Perhaps you or a loved one have a drug problem, but you don’t know how to stop. Maybe you or a loved one have tried a substance abuse treatment center before, but it didn’t work. When drugs interfere with your or you loved one work, relationships, and life, its essential to go to drug addiction treatment. In the absence of it, you or your loved one may fall into a more deadly addiction.
We help our clients before they reach that point. To ensure the highest chance of recovery, we use evidence-based treatment that addresses substance use disorders as well as any underlying mental health conditions. We not only offer a detox program but also offer residential addiction treatment. At our centers, some of the addictions we treat include the following:
According to the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 46.3 million people aged 12 or older (or 16.5 percent) had a substance use disorder (SUD) in the past year, including 29.5 million who had an alcohol use disorder, 24.0 million who had a drug use disorder, and 7.3 million people who had both an alcohol use disorder and a drug use disorder.

What is Substance Use Disorder (SUD)?
Substance use disorder is defined by the excessive, regular use of drugs or alcohol, despite negative consequences. Individuals may experience a variety of different symptoms before deciding to enter treatment, including:
- Increased tolerance for drugs or alcohol
- Failure to fulfill significant life obligations
- Difficulties with relationships and increased conflict in relationships
- An inability to control or reduce drug use
- Increased time seeking drugs
- Sacrificing activities to use instead
- Engaging in dangerous behaviors while under the influence of drugs
- Experiencing withdrawal symptoms, like anxiety, sweating, depression, insomnia, tremors, and increased heart rate
Often, when individuals struggle with substance abuse, they also have a co-occurring mental health disorder like anxiety, depression , or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). An individual can develop a substance use disorder to cope with the symptoms of their mental health disorder, which may only make the symptoms worse. Further, substance abuse may mask the symptoms of any co-occurring disorder, making it difficult to diagnose and properly treat. For these reasons, getting treatment for substance use disorder and any co-occurring mental health disorders at a treatment center like Silver Pines is vital.
