Executive Director
Matthew Bartos MSW, LCSW, CAADC
Matthew Bartos has been active in Substance Use Treatment for close to six years. He started his career at Little Creek Lodge, a 90-day inpatient program for adult males, in Hamlin, PA. During his time with Little Creek he worked many positions from Residential Care Worker and ending his time there as the Director of Operations. While working, Matt obtained his Masters of Social Work from Marywood University and is currently set to complete his Masters of Public Administration in December of 2019. He is the active President of Speak Up for Ben, a non-profit based in Bethlehem, PA which focuses on helping family members who are experiencing grief due to the stigmatized death of a loved one. Matt is also the acting Northeast Divisional Chair of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). As regional chair it is his responsibility to advocate for the Social Work profession as well as all the NASW members in the Northeastern Counties of Pennsylvania. Matt joined the team of Civiq Health as the Executive Director of Silver Pines because of his commitment to helping those with Substance Use Disorder and their families. Matt is deeply aligned with our client-centered approach and is excited to bring his expertise and team-centric nature to the management team. His background as a Social Worker adds a unique layer to our clients’ experience as well Matt’s management style. Working with marginalized and disenfranchised persons has become Matt’s passion and he looks forward to continuing his mission of creating systems whereby both clients and co-workers can experience support and lives of purpose.



Medical Director
Dr. Matthew Sommons, M.D.
Dr. Matthew Sommons attended college locally in Allentown, PA at Muhlenberg College. Upon graduation, Dr. Sommons received a Navy scholarship to attend medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his Psychiatry Residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. In his career as a Navy and civilian Psychiatrist, Dr. Sommons has worked in various capacities including inpatient psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, acute detox and geriatric psychiatry. As a private practice Psychiatrist, Dr. Sommons specialized in medication management of adult psychiatric conditions, addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy. His practice philosophy and approach varies between Rational Emotive Therapy and Insight Oriented Therapy depending on patient preference. In addiction treatment, Dr. Matthew Sommons relies heavily on the Motivational Interviewing philosophy to guide interventions as he believes this technique best honors individual responsibility, autonomy and choice, which are crucial in the recovery process.



Associate Medical Director

Dr Matthew Sophy is a graduate of DeSales University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internship and Family Medicine Residency at Delaware Valley Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Sports Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He maintains a family practice in Port Carbon, PA since 1984. He has worked at Silver Pines Treatment Center since 2018. He believes in a holistic approach to patients and draws on his vast experience to provide excellent patient care.



Clinical Director
Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams, Clinical Director of Silver Pines Treatment Center obtained his Master’s Degree in addiction counseling from Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in 2016. Brandon also holds a BA in Psychology and Education from Bucknell University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CAADC). Brandon has worked in multiple levels of care, including: intensive outpatient, correctional facility, and residential treatment. He is motivated by providing the best quality mental health and substance abuse treatment to every client that enters Silver Pines. Brandon says watching clients grow and begin to enjoy recovery is what he finds most fulfilling about his work. When he is not working, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family.



Executive Administrative Assistant
Andrea Harris
Andrea Harris started at Silver Pines August 2021 as a Care Coordinator. After 6 months she accepted the position for Executive Administrative Assistant. She previously had a career in Sales for 20 plus years prior to working at Silver Pines. She became passionate about addiction and mental health after being a client at Silver Pines and knew quickly that she wanted to work with others like herself! Andrea’s purpose is to help change the stigma surrounded around addiction and mental health and to share her own experience, strength, and hope so that she can help others along their journey.
Andrea is happily married with two adult children and two fur babies and may have a small obsession with leopard and cheetah print.
She loves to kayak, read self-help books, crochet, the beach, and make others smile. She is super excited to grow within the organization and to help make a difference!



Executive Chef
Andreana Ferrari, BS, Certified Nutrition Coach
Andreana was raised in the family restaurant business, learning the joy and importance of good food and hospitality at a young age. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Science at The Pennsylvania State University in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management. Dre found her home at Silver Pines in 2017 as a place where she could combine her passions for culinary creation and helping others. In her role as Executive Chef, she focuses on holistic wellness by serving a variety of fare that addresses nutritional needs and comforts the soul. As Nutrition Coach, Dre works to educate clients about the benefits of a balanced diet and to facilitate the inclusion of healthy eating behaviors as a part of sustainable recovery and wellbeing.



Nighttime Supervisor
William Guers, BS
William Guers started working at Silver Pines in 2019 as a care coordinator before moving up to nighttime supervisor. William earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University in 2018. William is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
William is in recovery himself for 5 years now. He is hard working and dedicated to carrying out our mission. He is also goal oriented, driven, forward thinking and passionate about helping individuals and families who suffer from substance abuse and mental health disorders.
In William’s free time he likes to play basketball, spend time with friends and family, and take his dog for hikes.



Nurse Manager
Rita Hartz, LPN
Rita Hartz, LPN. has over twenty years of nursing experience in various healthcare settings. She began her nursing career out of high school working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care setting providing care to fragile and elderly patients. While continuing to work she attended Schuylkill Training and Technology Center’s Practical Nursing Program. After taking her NCLEX as required by the State board of Nursing and earning her License to practice she progressed to various aspects of acute care nursing as well as telemetry and emergency care working as an LPN. She also has experience working in the home setting field where she worked closely with client families to provide quality care. Rita joined our team at Silver Pines Treatment Center as an LPN in our Detox Nursing Department in March of 2018 because of her passion to help those with substance abuse disorders. She progressed to the role of Lead Nurse with CIVIQ Health in October of 2019. Her compassionate and understanding nature as well as her dedication to caring for others brings comfort to our clients and their families. She looks forward to continuing her career and working closely with our team of Skilled Nurses, Clinical Team and Leadership team to offer comfort and support to our clients as they begin their journey into sobriety.

Ryan Berger, MAE, PE, LEED AP
Ryan Berger joined the Silver Pines’ team in March of 2020. He brings with him ten years of experience related to recovery. Ryan is passionate, hard-working, driven, and client-focused. He brings a team approach to situations but never loses site of building relationships with clients. Before joining the Silver Pines leadership team, Ryan was a critical component of our Care Coordinator staff. Ryan quickly ingrained himself with our team and became an invaluable member. Before entering this field, Ryan obtained a Master’s in Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Ryan’s client focused approach is complimented by his understanding of systems and how they work together to benefit organizations and their clients. In his free time Ryan enjoys spending time with his family. He also has a penchant for reading books on world history, hiking and mountain biking.

Tyler Scicchitano, MSPAS, PA-C
Tyler began his work in the field of addiction treatment 7 years ago at a halfway house for men located in Edwardsville, PA. In 2014 he enrolled at King’s college where he earned his BS in Medical Sciences and eventually a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2019. He became certified as a Physician Assistant and began his career in Internal Medicine in Scranton Pennsylvania. After one year of Internal Medicine Tyler joined our team to begin his practice in Addiction Medicine. He was drawn to Silver Pines by our client-centered focus and team approach. Tyler is enthusiastic about providing medical care and education to our clients to enable and empower them to build a foundation for a meaningful, positive and fruitful life.



Primary Therapist
Pate DuBois MS, AMFT
Pate DuBois joined the team of Silver Pines Treatment Center in May of 2023. Pate had been living in California for the past 10+ years. Pate moved to Pennsylvania in December of 2021. Pate obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology at the University of Valley Forge in 2010. Pate obtained a Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University, Sacramento in 2015. Pate approaches life with curiosity and wonder—often responsible, a serious-minded pragmatist, and thinks systemically. Pate in particular enjoys assisting in the process of improving the welfare of people and making things better for the greater good. Pate sees an abundance of situations to improve and accepts the dynamic chaos of life as it is. Pate has a strong sense of justice and fairness and is willing to tolerate and understand the diversity of humanity to further progress for the greater good. Pate achieves an ideal work-life balance, understands how to relax, and the importance of self-care. Pate often incorporates and utilizes therapeutic techniques and interventions from REBT, CBT, ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy.

Jesus Carmona
Jesus Carmona started at Silver Pines as a Care Coordinator in 2021. After building a strong foundation at Silver Pines, Jesus re-enrolled in school to further his education and advance in the addiction field, specifically with Silver Pines. Jesus transitioned from a Care Coordinator to Counselor’s Assistant, into his current role as a Clinician. Jesus is working towards obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration in substance abuse. Jesus’s passion to help others struggling with addiction derives from being a person in long term recovery. Jesus prides himself in helping clients feel comfortable and safe enough to be themselves and helping clients find love for themselves again. In his free time, Jesus enjoys spending time with his family, taking walks with his dog, watching & playing basketball, and designing clothes.

Alisha Barnes MS, LPC, CCTP
Alisha is a primary therapist at Silver Pines Treatment Center. She holds a BA in Psychology from West Chester University and a Masters in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College. As a primary therapist, Alisha is responsible for providing individual and group therapy, as well as insuring case management needs are coordinated in the treatment setting. Alisha presents with a focus in trauma-informed care and is continuing training in furthering this skill set. Alisha began working in Human Services at various clinical settings, providing treatment to young children presenting with behavioral difficulties as a result of both traumatic experiences and in-utero substance dependence. Services focused on offering assistance to both the children themselves, as well as legal guardians, in order to begin the healing process. Over the last 3 years, Alisha has focused on providing services to adults with substance use disorders, as well as other related co-occurring disorders. Her fundamental philosophy is in providing client-centered treatment that attends to the unique needs of each presenting individual. Alisha aims to build a therapeutic alliance, based upon providing a safe and trusting environment that allows for further exploration. As noted by Shannon L. Tiffany Kennedy, BA
Prior to working at Silver Pines, Tiffany worked at White Deer Run and Caron Treatment Centers bringing 12 years of experience to the Silver Pines Treatment Team. She worked in various roles including Student Assistance Program as well as development and running of Family Treatment Programs. Tiffany’s numerous professional experiences have instilled in her a love of working with clients with Substance Use Disorder as well as their families. Tiffany brings a unique family perspective to our team. Tiffany has also developed a keen understanding of how to best address the unique challenges and barriers of clients with Substance Use Disorder. Tiffany joined Silver Pines in March of 2020. She has brought with her extensive experience of working on multidisciplinary teams. Tiffany came to Silver Pines because of our client-centered focus, team mentality and mission to provide individualized care to our clients. Tiffany lives out our values of authenticity and integrity and is an integral part of our team. While at Silver Pines, Tiffany has engrained herself in the program and participates in such things as the APA Committee, Culture Committee along with various department meetings. In her free time Tiffany enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Fisher, BS
Jennifer Fisher started at Silver Pines as a Lead Care Coordinator in 2018 decided to go back to school in 2019. Worked full time, attended school full time, and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Rehabilitation and Human Services. Jennifer left Silver Pines to further her career as a Program Manager for young adults in an Independent Living setting. Jennifer’s passion has always been to help those in recovery due to battling with addiction. She returned to Silver Pines to be a clinician to fulfill her desire and passion. Jennifer herself has been in long term recovery. She is currently pursuing her master’s in social work at Marywood University.

Zachary Houser, BSW
Zachary is a primary therapist at Silver Pines Treatment Center. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his work at Silver Pines, Zachary has worked as a clinician at Firetree Ltd. and in various case management and therapeutic roles at other agencies including Access Services, and Merakey. Zachary brings a total of 12 years of experience to his role in Silver Pines treatment team. His varied work experiences have instilled in him a desire to help people in need, a respect for granting people’s autonomy, and the practice wisdom to help people make the changes that they want to make. Zachary joined Silver Pines in January of 2023. He has brought along skills of working with various populations including both adults and children, intellectually disabled individuals, autistic individuals, people with mental health diagnoses, as well as people struggling with substance use disorders. Zachary came to Silver Pines because of our client-centered approach, our mission of individualized care, and our willingness to go above and beyond for every one of our clients. When not working, Zachary serves as a volunteer staff member of a local non-profit live-action role-playing organization, Wyvern Rising, and plays bass guitar and ukulele in two bands. He also enjoys spending time with his family and 3 dogs.



Holistic Care Counselor
Kate Blonsky, BS
Kate facilitates Holistic Care Counseling at Silver Pines Treatment center. Kate’s Holistic approach is tailored to the individuality of each person and their unique journey & healing process. Kate’s education includes a BA degree in Psychology & Philosophy at Lock Haven University. Kate is a Reiki Master Teacher and practitioner for over 17 years & trained through schools of the Usui lineage. Kate’s trainings also include Mindfulness teachings through Dharma mentorship of the Thich Nhat Hanh community and Shamanic, Native American teachings within Wellbriety, as well as Interfaith Ministry ordination. Kate implements within group therapy and individual sessions, healing methods of Aromatherapy, Guided Imagery, Drumming & Sound healing, Meditative processes, Reiki & Full Body Reflexology techniques. For Kate, it’s important that each person feels free, in the treatment experience, to explore one’s affinities, interests and what truly brings one to align with happiness and peace within. Also, that each person who would like to discover Spiritual deepening and flourishing–that a Path be opened and lead to well-being, personal freedom from affliction and addiction and find ongoing, Life-Purpose fulfillment.



Art Therapist
Deidre Grieder, MAAT
Deidre is a kind, compassionate, and dedicated professional who received her Master of Arts in Art therapy from Cedar Crest College in Allentown Pennsylvania. She holds a minor in psychology and is certified in Trauma Art Narrative Therapy. Deidre has been a team member at Silver Pines Treatment Center for two years. She believes that getting to know each individual, their strengths, and perceived weaknesses as a person is key to the therapeutic relationship. She treats each person with respect, patience, and loving kindness throughout their treatment process. Deidre utilizes both art as therapy and art psychotherapy approaches. As an art therapist Deidre acts as a guide alongside the patient through the art process. She facilitates both group and individual sessions, using art media, the creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore individuals feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, encourage self-awareness, introduce the art making process as a way to recognize and manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

Noelle Parisi
Noelle Parisi is a Care Manager at Silver Pines Treatment Center. Noelle’s job includes helping clients when they first arrive in treatment for their intake, as well as, helping them once they are ready to transition to another program or return home. She also helps clients to secure their jobs, legal matters, and anything else that she can assist them with to make their stay here less stressful. Noelle is currently working towards an associate degree in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children and going on vacation. Noelle hopes to become a Primary Therapist when she completes school.

Danielle Swolensky is the Care Manager at Silver Pines Treatment Center. Danielle’s job includes helping clients when they first arrive to treatment for their intake, as well as helping them once they are ready to transition to another program or return back home. She also will help clients with securing their jobs, legal matters, and anything else that she can assist with in order to make their stay here less stressful. Danielle is also a trained SMART Recovery facilitator. In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her daughter, hiking, being outdoors, and traveling to new places near and far.

Stefan leads Odyssey’s efforts in developing the alumni communities at each of their facilities. Stefan’s approach sustains treatment effectiveness by providing timely, systematic, and supportive engagement forall clients who have completed treatment. With extensive experience developing and directing robust alumni communities in the addiction and mental health fields, he focuses on engaging people withintheir specific recovery journeys and developing community partnerships with a belief that long-term recovery is an attainable life goal.

Jennifer Cataldi
Jennifer Cataldi is the Alumni Coordinator at Silver Pines. Jennifer came to Silver Pines in July 2020 as the Executive Administrative Assistant with 15+ years of experience in the medical field and 3+ years of experience in Drug and Alcohol Treatment. Prior to Silver Pines she worked as a Behavioral Health Associate and then advanced to becoming the Admissions Coordinator at an inpatient residential treatment center. Among her duties she is also involved in the Silvers Pines Culture Committee and CIVIQS Equality Committee. Jennifer was drawn to Silver Pines because of the client-centered approach and values. She takes extreme pride in working for Silver Pines and believes that we offer a loving and caring environment that helps clients feel safe on their journey through recovery. Jennifer feels grateful that she is able to share her own experience, strength, and hope and help clients engage in their own recovery journey. She plans on furthering her education and working towards a degree in Addictions and Mental Health Treatment. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, going to the beach, reading, attending concerts and sporting events.
