Alumni Program

What Is An Alumni Program?
One of the most significant issues that people struggle with in their active addiction is that they’re disconnected from others. In treatment, you learn the benefit of having support from your peers and professionals. In fact, people stay trapped in their addiction for far too long because they believe they’re alone in their experience. A rehab alumni program is there to provide you with additional resources to keep the momentum of a support network after treatment.
The Benefits of Rehab Alumni Programs
Participating in an addiction treatment alumni program offers many benefits to sustain long-term recovery. Learn more about just a few of the advantages below.
- Connection: After completing treatment, you can maintain a connection with others you met while in treatment, as well as your therapist and staff. Some alumni form lifelong friendships with those they meet, and alumni groups help you stay connected when treatment ends. Also, you can connect with others who attended at different times and share experiences with those on different parts of their journeys.
- Community and Giving Back: You can attend support groups, annual alumni meetings, events, and other special gatherings. Being a part of a community can help you continue to grow and allow you time to help others struggling with treatment or those thinking about seeking help.
- Resources: Additionally, alumni have access to the facility’s resources, so if you need further guidance or counseling, this is available to you for continued aftercare support.
The Silver Pines Alumni Program
After treatment at Silver Pines, you’ll be part of our Alumni Program, where you can build upon your recovery. Moreover, this is extremely important because it not only helps with supporting you, but you’ll also be supporting others. One of the beautiful parts about recovery from active addiction is that you find meaning and purpose in life. In addition, a big part of this new purpose is helping others on the same path.
Our dedicated addiction treatment Alumni Coordinator orients every new client upon admission, and is an available resource during treatment, and continues support after discharge in our alumni aftercare program. We also extend our Alumni Program to family members.
Alumni Program for Relapse Prevention
During treatment, you’re in a bubble during which your entire day revolves around different strategies for staying clean. While many of these new coping skills will involve behavioral therapy and rewiring the way you respond, it can be difficult once you leave treatment. Some of the most difficult situations people deal with once they leave treatment can involve family, significant others, friends, work, and finances.
By participating in our rehab Alumni Program, you’ll continue to have people around who can be your support network, helping you face these situations. Additionally, it’s highly effective to talk to others who are in early recovery and can share their experience so you can avoid relapsing.
